One bag restriction relaxed
21.02.08
Passengers travelling via Humberside Airport can now carry more than one piece of hand luggage, subject to individual airline's rules. The Department for Transport (DfT) has approved the new security arrangements at the airport, which means that the restriction previously imposed limiting hand baggage to one item per person no longer applies.
A spokesman said the relaxation of the rule will be particularly welcomed by business travellers, especially flyers using one of the four daily flights to Amsterdam with KLM and those travelling to Aberdeen with Eastern Airways.
Rob Goldsmith, Managing Director of Humberside Airport added: ‘We are delighted to receive approval from the DfT. However, as some airlines may still retain the one-bag rule, we strongly suggest passengers check with their airline on the cabin baggage arrangements for their particular journey. Passengers should also remember that restrictions on liquids they carry in hand baggage are still in force.’
