21.12.05
The era of budget air travel arrived at Humberside Airport yesterday, with the departure of its first low-cost flight. Ryanair's inaugural 189-seat daily service to Dublin took off from North Lincolnshire at lunchtime yesterday.
The new operation has created 100 jobs and will attract 100,000 new passengers in its first year, the airport said. Airport managing director Rob Goldsmith said: 'This is a major boost to the airport and will bring substantial benefits to the local economy.'
